I was so excited that hot July day in 2002 as I traveled to Indiana to get our first Bullmastiff. Upon seeing the litter, I chose a beautiful red fawn pup and hopped into the car for the long drive home. I reminded myself I was NOT going to show this pup and simply wanted a loving companion to keep me company while my Husband was away working his vendor booth at the dog shows. But as I looked down at the sweet puppy I had chosen, I felt a twinge of guilt.This pup was just too pretty and I felt I should go back and take the red one with all the black on it so I would not be tempted to show. I went back and exchanged the pretty pup I had picked for the black covered one, the obvious pet. I told his breeder she could see him before I neutered him. We could never have imagined the black overlay would recede and he would bloom into the ever-so handsome boy he is today. Of course naming him was a breeze, my son in law is an avid Packer fan (is there any other kind of Packer fan?) and suggested the name Packer. This fit perfectly as Packer’s Grandsire is Ch.Titan’s Minister Of Defense. “Reggie” was named after THE Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers.

Just as I had hoped, Packer grew to be my loving companion and great buddy while Hubby is away. He also turned out to be a beautiful show dog. Being such a nice “Package” Packer did some fabulous winning and finished his Championship at a year of age taking Breed over the Specials and going on to a Group Placement. He garnered multiple group placements and breed wins with very limited showing.

BUT, my best friend was no longer home with me on weekends. Tthe decision was made to retire him from the ring. Packer has became the sire to a litter of 7 beautiful girls at Barberic Bullmastiffs and another litter of 12 (7 boys and 5 girls) at Amulet Bullmastiffs. We are extremely proud of these kids and are pleased to see some of Packer’s wonderful attributes in them. We’re thrilled to have our Packer at home and are looking forward to watching his kids make their mark in the show rings.
